I have replaced the existing file explorer with a new one and uploaded it here:

    http://cdn.contextstatic.org/downloads/ConTEXT_0987RC2.exe

So what do you think? Does it work ok? Any suggestions on improvements to it while I am there?

I also fixed a bug where you could drag a Folder into ConTEXT and it treated it as a file!!! This was not good when you tried to save it!

There are some Minor Focus Issues with Clicking Buttons and nothing happening...

If you press enter with a File Selected... It opens with the Default Application and not ConTEXT! Im working on this...

    No complaints here

No complaints here, looks good, easy to use can't ask for more.

I do miss the full path name of the folder being displayed, but clicking to the left of the file name yields the path - so an OK from me.

    YAY! 1 Happy Customer! lol

Still getting rid of this focus issue line by line! Not much more todo till it's GONE! :D

It's Possible to change the view as well. Could be handy if you want to check image locations.

I just opened ConTEXT 0987RC2 and got a message saying that it's using a component which is the trial edition! lol

It's only $69, so will be purchasing it soon. A free editor that costs money! The story of my life! hehe

I have updated the RC2 version which now has the file explorer working as it should be.

There are still focus issues remaining on a few of the tabs.

    2 remarks:

    - The setup doesn't remember the settings used in the previous installation (e.g. setup folder - using Windows 7 here)
    - Seems like the file explorer specific toolbar has disappeared

Thanks you reminded me about something there! It's ment to read the last location from the registry.

Yes the tool bar has gone, but what functionality is it missing? I guess the option to filter by file type has gone... is this an issue?

What I *really* miss is the button that synchronizes the folder in the explorer window with the folder of the active file.

This is very useful if editing files from different folders...

Ah took me a while to understand that.

The 'Change to File Directory' button.

I didnt really use the File Explorer, just never been used to using it.

I could shorten the length of the Folder Selection Dropdown and add a new button that selected the folder of the current file. Or would it be better to add an Option in Environment Options to always select the folder of the current file? Could be handy when you change Files using the tabs?

Or maybe I should add both? The option to change to the directory as default and also a button to do it.

If anyone can think of any way the File Explorer could be improved, now is a good time :)

Maybe I can add a Right Click Menu with some functions?

I prefer the button over the right click menu, because that saves one click :)

    File Explorer improvements

I think all buttons that exist in previous versions above File Explorer are important. That is:
    1. Change to File Directory
    2. Open Selected Files.
    3. Filter files based on the extension filter.

"Change to File Directory" and "Open Selected Files" are essential. I use those every day.
"Filter files based on the extension filter" is not that critical because you can sort file list by clicking on the column header. So you can sort them by extension.

Thanks for the info. Will see what I can come up with.

Seems shift multi-selection is not working in 0.98.7RC2?

Ctrl+A in the file explorer does not select all the files but select the text in the editor (both 0.98.6/0.98.7RC2)

Suggestion to show current filter setting in file explorer if we could have it.

Another limitation related to the file filter in 0.98.6:
Looks like the available file filters and what file types will not be filtered is based on the the Hightlighter.
For example, if choose Foxpro, only .prg files will be left, choose Clipper 5.2, .prg and .ch files will be left, but actually Clipper projects can have .asm files, so If I want to look at these .asm files, I still need to remove the filter and open them. If we don't have a file filter based on the Hightlighter, if I want to open all these files, need to do type sort, do multi-select and open three times. Suggestion is can we have some kind of textbox(.prg;.ch;.asm)/combobox to open the user specified file types under this folder and all it's subfolder in one click?

    Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah im sure there will be something I can come up with :)

I'm having the following popup when launching ConTEXT:

"This message occurs occasionally because you are using a trial version of the ShellBrowser components. For more information..."
